Invapay Help Police Speed Up

Driving efficiency, in both processing and reporting on orders and payments, is an ongoing crusade for nearly all organisations. In the public sector this drive was championed by the Gershon review, which set efficiency improvement targets for every government department.

Calling all cars
Cheshire Constabulary identified its relationship with Hertz as a priority for efficiency improvement due to the high volume of Hertz paper invoices being processed.

At first glance it appeared that the Visa Government Procurement Card (GPC) would fit the bill. However Hertz are not Visa GPC Level 2 or 3 capable supplier – meaning the necessary line item detail about orders and payments wouldn’t be made available to Cheshire Constabulary.

Enriching the data
The solution was to use Invapay which:

  • takes level 3 line item data from Hertz’s booking portal
  • acts as a ‘payment intermediary’ – using Invapay’s lodge card to
  • process payments, and pass on funds to Hertz from Lloyds Cardnet
  • provides reconciled level 3 line item and payment data to Cheshire
