Turkey saves 100,000 trees and reduces costs with E-invoicing

The Turkish Ministry of Finance has announced a saving of 650 million Turkish Liras ($293 million) of extra costs and prevented 100,000 trees from being cut after implementing an e-invoicing system.

Finance Director at top recruiter jailed for £300,000 fraud

A former finance director has been jailed for four years for stealing more than £300,000 from her employer in order to fund her shopping habit and buy household items. Karen Carberry, was found guilty at the Old Bailey on 31 October of one count of fraud by abuse of position.

Local govt fraud at 25 year high

Fraud valued at £188 million was detected by England’s councils in 2013/14, a ten-fold increase since 1990. The figure beats all records for the past 25 years, the Audit Commission revealed in its latest report on fraud in local government.
