APN Awards evening recognises AP success

How often are the words “collaborate” and “celebrate” drummed into us in our pursuit of better AP and wider P2P practices? Well, on Tuesday that was literally the case as 80 attendees to the APN awards evening picked up bongo drums and boom-whackers and instantly created a harmonious, beautifully orchestrated symphony of music…OK, not quite, but after a bit of effort and a not inconsiderable amount of sweat – by working together (yes, they really did pick up bongo drums), they actually produced something which worked in a very short space of time. More than that, something that was fun – something worth celebrating. A bit like working in AP.

Crossflow Payments makes key new appointment

Things are definitely moving fast in the supply chain finance industry. Relative newcomer, Crossflow Payments, has indicated its continued expansion with Tuesday's announcement that Jack Perschke has joined the company as Commercial Director. Crossflow Payments has recently launched its industry-first peer-to-peer (P2P) invoice financing service, which supports SME cash flow issues in supply chains and offers finance providers a low risk, high yield investment option.

UK card fraud losses show 17% increase

According to new figures by Financial Fraud Action UK, fraud losses on UK cards totalled £216.1 million during the first six months of 2013, showing a 17% increase from losses of £185.0m in the equivalent period of 2012.

Card fraud continues to remain low compared to previous peaks: losses have dropped 29% from 2008 high, despite modest increase over the first six months of 2013 compared with the first half of 2012

Thousands of pounds of expenses remain unclaimed

According to a new report by the Intercontinental Hotel Group, workers are losing thousands of pounds by not claiming back money they are owed because of the complicated way of claiming business-related expenses. The report highlighted that workers spent more than half an hour each month filling in forms and copying receipts.

Saudi university is first in region to join OB10's network

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), an international, graduate research university near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has selected OB10 as its global e-Invoicing provider.  

The university’s goal is to receive all invoices electronically to eliminate costly and manual paper-based processing, expedite approval, and free-up staff to focus on activities that add greater value.
