| Thousands of pounds of expenses remain unclaimed |

Friday 4th October, 2013 According to a new report by the Intercontinental Hotel Group, workers are losing thousands of pounds by not claiming back money they are owed because of the complicated way of claiming business-related expenses. The report highlighted that workers spent more than half an hour each month filling in forms and copying receipts. On top of that, a third of 1,000 people surveyed said the process was time-consuming and laborious and one in four don't claim back everything they spend. The report estimated that workers could be under-claiming by over £9 a month, adding up to thousands of pounds over their working life. Matt Luscombe of IHG said: "There are more avenues to spend than ever before and numerous methods of receipt, so it's no surprise that hours of unnecessary work time is being wasted as employees look for lost receipts and try to work out when and what a receipt was for." |
