Advanced partners with GHX to help the NHS make savings

Wednesday 19th March, 2014

Advanced Business Solutions (Advanced), has signed a partnership agreement with GHX UK (GHX), a provider of supply chain management and e-procurement solutions for the healthcare sector.

The partnership means that Advanced’s NHS user base can take full advantage of the GHX cloud-based supply chain management solutions, which will fully integrate with Advanced’s financial management system.

GHX products include the powerful Nexus, a content management solution, for up-to-date catalogue and content information and Powergate for materials management, including the advanced handheld barcoding solutions. Additionally, GHX Exchange will enable integrated electronic document exchange with suppliers, which includes electronic purchase ordering and e-invoicing. The solutions will be supplied, serviced and supported by software specialists from Advanced and GHX.

Both organisations have integrated their solutions to deliver a full end-to-end process for the trusts, which will benefit from more accurate accounting, spend analysis, materials management and financial planning. Availability via the cloud also helps reduce the need for internal IT infrastructure, a cost-centre which many organisations in the NHS are moving away from in their efforts to reduce spending.

Dean Dickinson, Managing Director, Advanced Business Solutions comments: "Our partnership with GHX will enable us to broaden the offer for our NHS customers and further help them to streamline supply chain and requisitioning processes."

"NHS finance departments can now benefit from the integrated Advanced and GHX solutions by gaining access to accurate, up-to-date purchasing information, automated requisitioning processes and e-commerce functionality such as e-invoicing."

Procurement teams will be able to access multiple catalogues containing thousands of line items and prices via a single browser. Suppliers can update their catalogues in real time, as and when required. Nexus replaces reliance on spreadsheets, which can become out of date very quickly and, as a result, are often a source of errors.
