Denbighshire outsources transactional processing centre

Wednesday 1st April, 2015

Denbighshire County Council has agreed a partnership in Wales, with Civica, a business process services provider, which could generate potential savings of £200,000 a year, over a seven year period.

Under the agreement, which includes the transfer of 74 employees to Civica, the company will deliver outsourced revenues and benefits services locally on behalf of Denbighshire, creating a transactional processing centre called ‘Canolfan Elwy’. The centre will help sustain local employment through the provision of services for other public sector organisations in Wales.

Denbighshire's Cabinet Lead Member for Finance, Councillor Julian Thompson-Hill, said,

"The agreement means we can look to the future knowing we can not only maintain but improve and grow the work we do in Denbighshire and actually create more jobs further down the line through taking on work for other authorities."

Simon Downing, Civica chief executive, said, "We look forward to working in partnership with Denbighshire Council to extend our existing relationship and to provide service assurance and savings for the council during a period of rapid and significant change. Denbighshire already delivers a high performing service and, together with our experience in transforming services, we will build on this to drive innovation, efficiency and growth."
