The 6th OpenPEPPOL General Assembly took place on March 19th in Brussels. The assembly covered PEPPOL’s strategic developments and operational plans, focusing on the Connecting Europe Facility.

The European Commission introduced the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Telecom Work Programme and discussed grants to be allocated for eInvoicing and eDelivery.

The General Assembly reported on the main achievements in 2014, a total of 130 members and more than 10 million transactions running through the PEPPOL network. The SimplerInvoicing Foundation also became a new PEPPOL Authority.

Other achievements included, the Department of Health used PEPPOL in the NHS e-Procurement strategy; while in Sweden, PEPPOL has been adopted as the basis for public e-Procurement.

Two main drivers that will enable OpenPEPPOL to realise its vision of a 'de-facto network for e-Procurement in Europe', is an increased number of PEPPOL Authorities and the inclusion of new industries and domains.

The General Assembly also formally approved the re-election of the Norwegian Agency for Public Management and eGovernment (Difi) as Treasurer of the Association.
