Latest E-billing providers to sign EESPA's agreement

Thursday 31st October, 2013

EDICOM is one of the latest providers to guarantee the free exchange of electronic invoices, by signing an interoperability agreement reached between the sector’s main providers of B2B solutions in France and Europe. Accelya has also signed the agreement during October.

The agreement between 25 companies was drawn up with the collaboration of GS1 France and under a working group created to encourage electronic invoicing in all areas, private and public.

With this collaboration agreement, service providers undertake to provide full connectivity to their customers, who can exchange highly critical business documents such as electronic invoices with security and confidentiality guaranteed.

The initiative focuses on promoting four key points to establish a single, uniform environment for transmission of documents:

  • Electronic invoice format.
  • Technical means of transmission and traceability.
  • Compliance with regulations and standards.
  • The undertaking by providers not to establish additional charges on each document.

The agreement is a measure of support and encouragement for electronic billing in France, reinforcing similar initiatives being promoted throughout Europe, such as those developed by the EESPA (European E-Invoicing Service Providers Association).

The main beneficiaries of this type of initiatives are the thousands of users exchanging electronic invoices in France on a daily basis, who will be able to connect with their trading partners with accessibility guaranteed and at no additional cost.
