| Fourth consecutive Green Supply Chain award for Basware |
|
Tuesday 26th November 2013 Basware has received a Green Supply Chain award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine for the fourth consecutive year. The award recognises Basware’s industry leadership in helping companies reduce paper through e-invoicing and electronic processes. The company's solutions and services also help companies gain critical visibility and control over finances, reduce costs and improve productivity. By using solutions like Basware's organisations can drastically reduce the amount of paper-based invoices exchanged throughout a company’s supply chain, and allow buyers to easily transact collaboratively (by sending e-invoices, orders and sharing catalogs) with millions of suppliers across the globe, eliminating the need to generate vast amounts of paper invoices every year. With e-invoicing, companies no longer need to print, post, process, manually key-in, store and dispose of paper invoices, helping them achieve corporate social responsibility (CSR) and Green targets. “As companies work to become more eco-friendly and reduce their carbon footprint, they are realizing that the Accounts Payable department is one of the largest contributors to corporate paper consumption,” said Robert Cohen, VP, Basware North America. “Basware is committed to helping companies eliminate the vast amount of paper invoices they receive by delivering automated purchase-to-pay and e-invoicing solutions, which also enable faster processing times, reduced costs and improved productivity.”The 2013 Green Supply Chain Awards recognize companies that are making green sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy, and are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and/or supply chains, in the areas of: sourcing/procurement, fulfillment/logistics, operations, Product Lifecycle Management, and other areas of the supply chain. The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals. Submissions were judged based on the clarity and content of the goals and strategy, the extent of the steps being taken, the impact of the results to date and projected results, and the form and presentation of the information submitted.
