Italian government shortens mandatory e-invoicing deadline

As of 6th June 2014, Electronic invoicing will be mandatory in certain sectors across the Italian Public Administration, including the Ministries, Tax Agency and state security bodies, as well as their suppliers.

Other public agencies are scheduled to join nine months later.

Essex County Council to roll-out new finance management system

Essex County Council (ECC) has appointed Advanced Computer Software (Advanced) to host its financial management system for the duration of two years. The system currently runs in e5, an industry wide standard that allows organisations to track projects, manage budgets/forecasts and procurement processes.

GE selects Tungsten Network to process over 16m invoices per year

Tungsten Network has been contracted by GE to rollout a multi-year e-Invoicing programme into every GE operation globally, with potential invoice volumes of over 16m per annum. GE will also take Tungsten's Invoice Status Service, which helps customers confirm delivery of invoices.

SMEs still reluctant to switch and find alternative finance

According to the latest research from the Forum of Private Business, small business owners remain reluctant to switch banks, despite the ongoing concerns over access to finance, charges and calling in loans.

The Forum's banking and finance survey indicates that just over half of small businesses surveyed were content with their current banking arrangements and thought they offered good or excellent value for money, with a further third suggesting it was an average offering.
