The Department of Health (DoH) has launched the NHS eProcurement strategy to introduce e-procurement across the NHS. By using the new strategy the NHS could potentially save £3m-£5m per hospital.
NHS eProcurement strategy report sets out how e-procurement can better support the NHS procurement processes that manage transactions and pricing with suppliers.

Europe is set to get its first bitcoin centre this May, with the opening of the Maison du Bitcoin in Paris. Situated at the heart of the city the building with offer assistance for bitcoin companies, workshops, a bitcoin ATM and more.
La Maison du Bitcoin is the brainchild of entrepreneurs and bitcoin enthusiasts Thomas France (co-founder) and Eric Larchevêque (CEO and co-founder), who previously founded the price comparison and shopping app Prixing.

An employee working for Nicholson McLaren has been found guilty of invoice fraud at Reading Crown Court. Lee Smith admitted four counts of fraud which related to invoices being submitted for racing car parts which were never delivered, amounting to £26,000. Mr Smith set up a series of bogus emails to demand payments from Nicholson McLaren, the subsequent payments were then sent to the addresses of members of his family.
