IT problems at Nationwide cause widespread transaction issues

Nationwide Building Society, one of the biggest in the UK with about four million customers, experienced technical issues with its banking services yesterday. Customers were left unable to use online and mobile banking services, stopping them from making essential everyday banking transactions. The problem was solved by late afternoon after being down since the morning.

Basware's easy connectivity attracts major energy retail company

In further proof of the strength of Basware's proposition and penetration across the Benelux region, the company has announced that it's signed an e-invoicing service agreement with a major energy retail company in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and France. The services include a solution for both sending e-invoices and e-archive. The value of the deal exceeds EUR 650,000 over the next three years.

Rotherham Council uses Advanced in bid to exceed £3m savings target

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC) has invested in a portfolio of software solutions from Advanced Business Solutions (Advanced) to help exceed its current £3 million procurement savings target. Advanced’s data capture and spend analytics solutions aim to help the council meet its 10 and 30 day supplier payment targets. The solutions will go live in a phased approach between April and July 2013.

Selfridges payment terms puts suppliers between a rock and a hard place

The Forum of Private Business has accused Selfridges of putting its suppliers between a rock and a hard place by forcing them to accept a settlement discount of at least 3% in return for paying invoices within 60 days. The retailer had previously had payment terms of around 75 days. Suppliers were also given the option of a sliding scale of early settlement discounts depending on when they opted to have the account settled - 5% within 21 days and 4% within 30 days.
